Quarry Bank Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Site Assistant who takes pride in their working environment. This is a part‑time, 39‑week term time, permanent position.

The School Site Assistant is responsible, through the Headteacher and Governing Body, for a wide range of duties and responsibilities connected with the fabric and grounds of the school.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out end‑of‑day security procedures, ensuring all buildings, classrooms, offices, gates, doors, and windows are securely locked.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the school site to identify and report any security, health and safety, or maintenance concerns.
  • Respond appropriately to security issues, alarms, or emergencies in accordance with school procedures.
  • Undertake general cleaning duties within school buildings, including communal areas, classrooms, offices, and welfare facilities as required.
  • Carry out external cleaning and housekeeping tasks, including litter picking, sweeping pathways, and maintaining the cleanliness of outdoor areas.
  • Assist in maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the school premises.
  • Report defects, damage, vandalism, or maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate person.
  • Support the site management team with general site duties and minor maintenance tasks where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist with the movement, setting up, and storage of equipment, furniture, and supplies as required.
