We are working with an international ingredients supplier that is expanding its UK Food Ingredients business.

Due to planned growth, we are recruiting for a Business Development Manager – Food Ingredients (UK).

Location: Home-based, UK

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales and business development across the UK Food Ingredients market
  • Develop and execute the UK business plan and growth strategy
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within bakery, meat and ready meals sectors
  • Manage and develop key customer relationships
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier and principal relationships
  • Work closely with European colleagues to support commercial growth initiatives
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and pricing
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity and new opportunities
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events and exhibitions
  • Support the future growth of the UK team, including the recruitment of a Customer Service Representative

Requirements

  • Proven sales, business development or account management experience within Food Ingredients
  • Strong understanding of the UK food manufacturing sector
  • Experience selling into bakery, meat, ready meals or related food markets
  • Ability to build and execute a commercial growth strategy
  • Experience managing supplier or principal relationships would be advantageous
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable operating in a highly autonomous, growth-focused environment
  • Exposure to animal nutrition ingredients would be beneficial but is not essential
