School Caretaker
Location: Coventry
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (until end of August 2026 initially)
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6am – 2pm | Friday, finish at 1:30pm

About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hands‑on School Caretaker to join a busy school in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong maintenance skills who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in the day‑to‑day running of the school site, ensuring the premises are well maintained, compliant with health and safety requirements, and fully operational at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the security, maintenance, and general upkeep of the school premises.
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
- Ensure the school grounds and buildings remain safe, clean, and presentable.
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections and report any concerns.
- Liaise with external contractors and monitor works carried out on site.
- Assist with the preparation and set‑up of rooms and facilities for school events and activities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues to minimise disruption to the school day.
About You
- Previous experience in a caretaker, site management, facilities, or maintenance role.
- Good practical skills with the ability to undertake a range of minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Sound understanding of health and safety procedures and regulations.
- Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Reliable, organised, and proactive in approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
- Available to start immediately.
