Learning Support Assistants

Fixed Term Contract until 31/08/2027

Salary: Essex Scale 3 Point 6‑7 (£17,623.35 – £17,904.09 actual annual salary plus £494.34 fringe allowance per annum)

30 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑3:10 pm (40‑minute unpaid break), 38 weeks per year (term time plus inset days).

Start date: 1st September 2026.

A new opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, caring and committed Learning Support Assistants to join our successful team supporting students in the classroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with other members of staff.
  • Build a strong professional relationship with pupils and their families.
  • Assist pupil achievement by monitoring learning against learning outcomes and informing the teacher of progress or problems.
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills.
  • Apply good behaviour management skills.
  • Maintain basic English and Mathematics (GCSE Level 4‑9 or equivalent).
  • Keep accurate record‑keeping (progress and medical where required).
  • Show a passion for the impact teaching and learning can have on improving pupil outcomes.
  • Commit to supporting the delivery of education of the highest standard.

Qualifications

  • Personable, empathetic, and able to communicate effectively whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner under pressure.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage but not essential.
