Customer Service Assistant

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Derby, DE24 8HJ

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 with 30 mins lunch.

Responsibilities

You’ll be undertaking tasks such as responding to incoming enquiries, responding to customer queries and processing orders. You’ll be on the phone and the face of our trade counter, providing expert knowledge and assistance to walk‑in customers. You’ll proactively follow up on outstanding enquiries, prepare accurate quotations, and look for opportunities to upsell and add value.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of MRO/Engineering products is ideal, but full training will be provided
  • Prior internal sales experience or experience within a customer service / administrative environment
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Self‑motivated, with strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
