Junior Test Analyst

Salary: £27,000.00 – £30,000.00
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Test Analyst to join our QA team at Premex Group. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality testing across programmes, multiple projects, and smaller change initiatives. Working within a cross-functional team, you will support all phases of the testing lifecycle – from defining the approach through to execution and reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in software testing, with a structured development plan in place to progress into a non-junior position.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage fully in training and development opportunities to build your testing expertise
- Perform a range of software testing activities and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on complex and high-profile initiatives
- Define, prepare, execute, and report on testing activities in alignment with the overall Test Strategy
- Ensure all testing outputs are high quality and meet business requirements
- Apply risk-based testing techniques and clearly communicate approach and rationale
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to support testing delivery
- Contribute to test scoping, impact assessments, and effort estimation
- Identify and communicate risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies
- Support business stakeholders in planning and executing UAT
- Ensure compliance with IT security standards and best practices
- Assist in resolving production issues to minimise business disruption
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and standards
About You
Essential
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Awareness of software testing and its importance to business success
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
- Ability to manage time effectively across multiple activities
- A proactive, organised, and flexible approach to work
Desirable
- ISTQB certification
- Degree (2:1 or above) in a Software Engineering or related discipline
- Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Experience or exposure to tools such as Selenium WebDriver
- Knowledge of UI/API automation, performance, and load testing
- Familiarity with Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration
