Actioning of day-to-day Project IT activities including site visits with site mobilisation activities. Actioning of End user and IT Systems Support, system security of GSA users on Sizewell sites, offices and remotely.
The Geotechnical Subcontract Alliance (GSA) is a key part of the Sizewell C nuclear power station project on the Suffolk coast. It focuses on preparing the ground for construction by building cut-off walls, improving soil stability, and installing bearing elements and retaining structures. The work involves advanced techniques such as piling, diaphragm walling, soil mixing, and grouting, using specialist equipment including hydrofraises, hydraulic grabs, piling rigs, and soil mixing plants. The GSA team operates under a collaborative alliance model to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality results.
Please note this is a site based role and requires 5 days a week on site.
What you’ll be doing
- Support tasks and activity
- Support Call management: logging, escalation, resolution
- IT infrastructure and services: manage changes and troubleshoot all network connectivity, network services (printing and scanning), telephone, video and telephony conferencing
- Rollout IT: Enabling new hardware (PC, screens, projectors etc.)
- New user onboarding: prep new kits, connect new user to office 365 platform and other IT Services, install and configure software products and demonstrate how to use the new environment, add mailbox to Outlook client, install/configure OneDrive Sync, install/configure Office and other software, add/configure/verify printer on PC, etc.
- End user Support: via telephone, Teams, Email, remote tools etc. Troubleshooting and information gathering on existing software products. Assist project users in meeting room setup, user IT training and office facilities use.
- Escalation: 2nd tier escalation to ServiceDesk or IT Manager on clients on behalf of users, including follow-up with ServiceDesk and feedback to users
- Asset Inventory and admin: ensure Receiving, Inventory and allocation of equipment; processing leavers and damaged equipment, reporting.
- Procedures, Forms & Training: Creating user procedures, training project users on IT services and production of digital record sheets
- Research and Development: Find new ways of improving IT services to aid the project
Who we’re looking for
- Experience in a team environment
- Experience in 0365 administration
- Very good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office products including SharePoint and PowerApps
- Very good working knowledge of PCs, networks and internet cloud services.
- Time and task management skills
- Can do attitude
- Willing to undergo training/orientation
