Hardware Deployment Technician

Overview

Northumbria Healthcare Digital Services seeks a Hardware Deployment Technician to support hardware and software installations across Trust sites. The role is full‑time (Monday to Friday) and based at the Digital Services hub in Seaton Delaval, with travel to all Trust locations.

The team supports the Trust’s 12,000 staff across primary care, acute hospitals, community hospitals and services. The role includes supporting existing PC equipment, software applications, mobile devices and deploying new equipment and software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing support for all PC equipment, software and mobile devices across the Trust, including installation of PC hardware, software and peripheral devices.
• Investigate routine enquiries and queries from staff, providing assistance and advice as required.
• Order, install and configure new IT desktop equipment and mobile devices.
• Ensure new equipment is installed and configured in a timely manner and in line with Trust standards and service levels.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic Service Desk support calls in a timely manner and in line with Trust standards and service levels.
• Work within the Trust IM&T Security Policy at all times and ensure all supported systems comply with this policy.
• Undergo staff training and development as required and attend all team and departmental meetings.
• Update systems as appropriate to track the lifetime of IT assets within the Trust.
• Participate in the on‑call rota.
