About the role

At GRAHAM we are a leading UK Total FM provider. We are looking for a Multi Skilled Fabric Engineer (Painting and Decorating Bias) to join our team in the Southwest region of England & Wales. The role involves performing planned and reactive maintenance tasks, as well as occasional minor refurbishment work. You will work as part of the maintenance team and be responsible for commercial fabric repairs, maintenance and any additional reactive tasks as required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and complete a range of works with responsibility for planned, reactive and remedial repairs.
  • Plan and complete a range of works related to painting, decorating, tiling, drainage, minor roof repairs, finishes, plastering and flooring as required.
  • Provide exceptional maintenance services to high profile clients and deliver work to the highest quality standards.
  • Use own initiative to solve technical problems associated with reactive maintenance, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer support.
  • Provide detailed write‑ups of works carried out to keep clients updated.
  • Carry out work within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, complying with current regulations and contract specifications.
  • Maintain reporting and recording procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and controls to minimise risks.
  • Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
  • Liaise closely with the Helpdesk to ensure efficient response to all works, working independently or as part of a team.
  • Observe highest levels of health and safety, including risk assessments for every task.
  • Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner when dealing with a variety of clients.
  • Provide call‑out response across all contracts.

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant qualification in your trade at C&G or NVQ Level 2 or 3.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a FM and building maintenance role, particularly in reactive and remedial maintenance.
  • Broad knowledge of building systems for reactive tasks, including fabric, PPM, general building, carpentry, wet trade, minor plumbing and ground works.
  • Current full UK Driver’s Licence.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with SFG 20.
  • IOSH Working Safely or CSCS Card.
  • IT skills in the use of PDAs.
  • Asbestos awareness training (UKATA).
  • CSR/CSCS H&S qualification.
  • Knowledge of Salto PPD for security systems.
  • PASMA Card and IPAF Licence.
