Financial Controller

Reed Finance is partnering with a growing manufacturing SME to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to join the SLT and play a key part in driving financial performance, governance and strategic growth.

Reporting to the Managing Director & CEO, you will combine strategic oversight with hands‑on delivery, leading a small finance team while providing commercial insight and financial direction across a multi‑entity business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly management accounts, variance analysis and board reporting
• Deliver budgets, forecasts and financial modelling
• Oversee manufacturing costing, margins and operational performance
• Manage cash flow, working capital and invoice finance
• Ensure VAT, tax, audit and statutory compliance
• Act as key contact for auditors and group finance
• Maintain balance sheet integrity, fixed assets and inventory
• Oversee payroll, pensions and finance operations (AP/AR)
• Lead CapEx appraisals and investment decisions
• Provide commercial partnering across the business
• Develop and lead a high‑performing finance team

Skills & Experience

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or QBE)
• Manufacturing or stock‑intensive background
• Strong costing, margin and cash flow expertise
• Knowledge of audit, compliance and financial controls
• Experience with invoice finance
• Advanced Excel and ERP systems (Sage desirable)
• Proven team leadership and development
• Commercially focused, analytical and hands‑on
