Job Description:

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, well‑motivated and driven Paediatric Audiologist to join the Paediatric Audiology service at Hertfordshire Community Trust on a permanent basis.

Experience is not necessary – we will provide all the required training to get you up and running as a confident paediatric audiologist.

The Paediatric Audiology service provides second‑and third‑tier services to children and young people living within the West Hertfordshire area. There are three sites – Watford, St. Albans and Hemel Hempstead. The post holder will be expected to cover clinics at all three sites as needed; therefore a full, valid driving licence and access to a car for business purposes are essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Responsibilities

  • Lead children’s hearing assessment clinics aged 8 months‑18 years
  • Use a range of tests for assessing children’s hearing
  • Provide hearing aid management to children
  • Carefully manage the patient and their family through the audiology pathway
  • Communicate effectively with service users and other members of the team
  • Engage in peer reviews
  • Engage in audits and clinical governance tasks to ensure the department is continuously improving
  • Assist the Audiology Service Lead in the day‑to‑day management of the service
  • Take on operational responsibilities (with guidance) within the department

Qualifications / Requirements

  • No prior experience required – training will be provided.
  • Full, valid driving licence and access to a car.
  • Ability to travel between Watford, St. Albans and Hemel Hempstead sites.
