South Staffs Water supplies a population of nearly 1.3 million. The area of supply stretches from the edge of Ashbourne in the North, to Halesowen in the South, and from Burton‑on‑Trent in the East, to Kinver in the West.
The Role
As a Digital Workplace Engineer, you’ll provide hands‑on IT support to around 3,000 employees across the UK. This is a varied, people‑facing role where you’ll troubleshoot issues, maintain systems, and build strong relationships across the business.
We’re looking for someone who is curious, proactive, and enjoys problem‑solving, with a willingness to get stuck in and resolve issues both remotely and on‑site.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd line support for escalated Service Desk tickets
- Use ITSM tools to prioritise and manage incidents effectively
- Support users with hardware, software, and mobile devices
- Maintain security systems, including antivirus and monitoring tools
- Administer Active Directory and Group Policies
- Build and support Windows 11, iOS/Android devices, Intune, and Autopilot
- Carry out basic network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN)
- Support patching and maintenance of network equipment
- Assist with small project work alongside delivery teams
- Travel to sites as required to provide hands‑on support
What You’ll Need
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience in an IT support role and/or relevant qualification or degree
- Strong customer service skills with a user‑focused approach
- Good troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networks
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
