Overview

Are you a highly skilled Commercial Gas Engineer looking to transition away from conventional, stagnant processes into a rapid-growth, forward-thinking environment? This is your opportunity to join an innovative energy specialist reshaping how large-scale energy systems and district heating networks are delivered across the UK.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the Operations Department, taking ownership of high-value energy centre plant rooms. This is an autonomous, technically demanding position where you will deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fault-finding across large-scale commercial plant machinery. As the business enters a significant three-year growth trajectory, you will benefit from accelerated career development, structured manufacturer training to become a brand ambassador, and the chance to mentor incoming junior engineers.

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Gas, Plumbing, or heating discipline.
  • Gas Safety & Compliance: Valid Commercial Gas Registration, Testing & Purging Training Course (TPCP1), and Gas Booster (BMP1).
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven track record servicing, fault-finding, and replacing parts on commercial boilers from leading manufacturers (e.g., Hoval, Hamworthy, Ideal, Buderus).
  • Engineering Skills: Ability to interpret complex mechanical schematics and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Competence in both mechanical and basic electrical safe isolation.
  • Logistics: Valid Full UK Driving Licence (held for a minimum of 12 months). Willingness to join a 1-in-4 week on-call rota.
  • Desirable: Part P or Part G compliance certifications; prior experience working on district heating networks.

The Package

  • Base Salary: £52,500 – £60,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Bonus: Discretionary performance-related bonus scheme
  • Hours: 40-hour standard workweek
  • Allowances: Company van provided with authorised private usage allowance
  • Holiday: 25 days annual leave + statutory bank holidays (with an option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days)
  • Benefits: Private healthcare scheme, pension plan, electric car lease scheme, cycle-to-work scheme, and comprehensive health and well-being support
  • Tools: Company laptop, tablet, and mobile phone provided
