Quality Engineer – Aerospace Manufacturing

Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of Pall Redruth Aerospace for a Quality Engineer to join their team in Redruth.
Reporting to the Principal Quality Engineer, you will act as the first-line representative for key strategic customers while driving quality improvements across the product family. Key Duties
- Take ownership of First Pass Yield (FPY) and Customer Complaint metrics within your product family and drive improvements.
- Act as the primary contact for the quality teams of strategic customers.
- Implement and maintain the Certified Operator Programme for the product family.
- Lead Quality Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure effective training and execution of DBS and QMS activities to meet quality objectives.
- Use structured problem-solving methodologies, including Danaher PSP and 8D.
- Manage Customer Complaint CAPA processes and cross-functional quality projects.
- Liaise with customers, government bodies, and the FAA regarding audits, corrective actions, and quality matters.
- Lead quality activities during New Product Introduction (NPI), including DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, and APQP processes.
- Prepare technical presentations and reports to support quality initiatives.
Requirements
- MSc degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a quality or operations role within manufacturing.
- Proven success within a metrics-driven quality or operations environment.
- Strong knowledge of variation control, SPC, and process capability analysis.
- Experience with APQP tools, including FMEA, Control Plans, and PPAPs.
- Experience using statistical Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvements using structured problem-solving methods.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience within aerospace, automotive, or other highly regulated industries.
- Supervisory or people management experience.
- Six Sigma and/or ASQ certifications.
- Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen experience.
- Customer quality management experience.
