Staffordshire County Council, a temporary administrative role for 9 months is now available in the Core Support and Improvement, Adult Social Care and Safeguarding Business Support Team.
Business Support plays a vital role in the effective functioning of Adult Social Care and Safeguarding Services, facilitating seamless operations that enable frontline staff to prioritise community engagement. Our team delivers comprehensive administrative support across key areas including Strategic Management, Safeguarding, First Contact, Adult Learning Disabilities and DOLs thereby empowering operational managers and social workers to focus on individuals requiring assistance. Each position within Business Support contributes significantly to the well‑being of people throughout Staffordshire.
Main Responsibilities
This is an important opportunity to contribute to the support of a high‑profile programme of work focused on improving data quality, maintaining service resilience and supporting readiness for the implementation of a new Health and Care client database.
You will play a key role in helping the service respond to increased operational demand, tackle data strands cleansing activity, reduce backlog and support other business continuity during a period of change. The post offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on compliance, service effectiveness and the quality of information used across the service.

The work will help improve operational efficiency, reduce duplication and strengthen resilience during a significant period of organisational and system change. The role will also provide wider administrative support across the service as operational needs arise.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong administrative experience in a busy service environment
- Has excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Can manage and prioritise a varied workload effectively
- Is confident working with complex data and records
- Can communicate well with colleagues and stakeholders
- Is able to identify issues, investigate thoroughly and support resolution
- Can work flexibly to respond to changing operational priorities
You’ll need to work well with others, be organised, and have solid IT skills. Essential qualities include:
- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent
- The ability and significant experience of using IT systems including Microsoft Office, Outlook and electronic financial processes
- Work with minimal supervision and take responsibility for day‑to‑day decisions
- Interpret, format and accurately present information using the software provided
- Effective written and oral communication skills with internal and external colleagues, as well as members of the public
