Mechanical Design Engineer

£40 – 45K/annum

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
• Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using AutoCAD and/or Inventor.
• Support system integration activities, ensuring compatibility across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
• Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Ensure designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Support verification and validation activities, including testing, prototyping, and product development.
• Collaborate effectively with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

About You

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in mechanical design within engineering or manufacturing projects.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering principles.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working within defence, aerospace, nuclear, rail, or other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with verification, validation, testing, and prototyping activities.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Security Requirements

• Eligible to obtain DBS and BPSS clearance.
• Hold a UK passport or dual UK nationality.
