Position

Mechanical Project Engineer (Permanent)

Location

Biddulph, England – commutable from Crewe, Middlewich, Holmes Chapel, Congleton, Macclesfield, Leek, Northwich, Knutsford, Newcastle‑under‑Lyne, and North Stoke areas.

Salary

£50,000 – £55,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with potential flex for traffic.

Job Summary

Our client, based in the East Cheshire area, seeks an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to manage process‑driven machinery design and manufacturing projects.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and review client specifications, drawings and analysis of product test results to ensure proposals meet client requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and produce proposal documents for client presentation.
• Work closely with clients and in‑house design/production staff to jointly manage client requirements.
• Maintain all project documentation, conduct site surveys and oversee commissioning in the UK.
• Conduct occasional site visits (3–6 times a year) to discuss progress and provide updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical or process engineering.
• Knowledge of food or chemical process equipment and control systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles and equipment interactions.

Desirable

• Contract management experience and commercial awareness.
