Senior Process Engineer – UKNNL
UKNNL is looking for a versatile and experienced Senior Process Engineer to lead process engineering design projects from specification to operational asset delivery across multiple UK sites. The role involves driving solution development, coordinating with project managers, procurement, commissioning, and plant operations to ensure successful, safe, and compliant outcomes.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead development of Process Engineering designs to national and international standards as part of a multi‑disciplinary engineering team.
- Authorisation and checking of calculations, engineering drawings, technical reports and design memos.
- Work with project/program managers to meet time, cost, quality and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with procurement team to define requirements and source suppliers.
- Support commissioning and plant troubleshooting for active production areas.
- Design safe plants in line with safety standards (BSEN61508, BSEN60079, BSEN4126).
- Mentor junior engineers and guide their design activities.
- Collaborate with the Process Engineering Discipline Lead to identify business improvements.
- Engage in the employee development programme for technical and behavioural growth.
Essential Criteria
- Chartered Engineer.
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related subject with relevant experience.
- Experience developing process plant design deliverables in a highly regulated industry.
- Experience of the HAZOP process.
- Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, quality and environmental requirements relating to engineering design projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Evidence of problem‑solving and seeking solutions.
- Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5years of UK residency).
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in the nuclear sector.
- Self‑motivated, high‑energy contributor.
- Questioning attitude.
