Position Title: Integration Engineer
Duration: Contract
Location: Gaydon, West Midlands
Rate: £35.80 per hour (Inside IR35)
Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on‑going and valid eligibility to work full time, and travel within the UK.
Responsibilities
- Lead the diagnosis of software and systems issues during the development phase of automotive vehicle platforms.
- Plan and coordinate delivery of software from multiple ECUs to deliver vehicle features and systems.
- Resolve issues, understand root causes, and support resolution of systems and software issues within the vehicle.
- Engage directly with complex issues to gather data, define problems, and analyze data to identify responsible teams.
- Determine urgency levels during initial investigations.
- Ensure accuracy of data captured for level 1 triage issue tickets.
- Maintain up‑to‑date testing assets and assist in testing complex issues and systems.
- Work with all business areas to ensure issues are understood and prioritized correctly.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of issue/defect management processes and tools.
- Proficiency in root‑cause analysis techniques and problem‑solving methodologies.
- Ability to develop, interpret, and present metrics, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
- Solid understanding of software integration principles and dependencies.
- Excellent communication skills, including leading discussions on complex or sensitive matters.
- High attention to detail and process discipline.
- Ability to identify areas of weakness and where help is needed.
- Experience working within structured project governance frameworks (e.g., PMO, programme teams). Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
- Experience maintaining and updating issue registers and tracking systems with accuracy and rigor.
- Ability to facilitate regular issue review meetings, ensuring clear ownership and timely follow‑up.
Education
Degree or equivalent experience.
