Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on utilities plant and equipment
  • Maintain and troubleshoot control panels, MCCs, drives, and instrumentation
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems
  • Support upgrades, installations and electrical projects
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations
  • Read and understand electrical drawings and technical specifications
  • Maintain utilities, including:
    • Boilers and steam systems
    • Compressed air systems
    • Water treatment and RO systems
    • HVAC and ventilation systems
    • Sterilisers
  • Carry out fault finding, repair and preventative maintenance
  • Support shutdown activities and major maintenance works
  • Identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase reliability and efficiency
  • Assist with energy reduction and sustainability projects
  • Ensure all work complies with site SOPs, permits and safety procedures
  • Participate in risk assessments, method statements and audits
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records

Experience Required

  • Experienced engineer with electrical bias (NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent)
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience working with motors, drives and PLCs (basic fault finding)
  • Experience working with control systems and instrumentation
  • Experience within utilities / plant environment
  • Experience with steam, water, HVAC or compressed air systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment
