The Opportunity As Commercial Finance Analyst, you’ll support the effective management of trade spend, customer promotions, forecasting and commercial performance reporting. Working closely with Finance, Sales, Marketing and Demand Planning teams, you’ll help ensure robust financial controls while providing analysis that supports strategic decision-making. This position offers broad exposure across the commercial finance function and would suit someone looking to further develop their business partnering and analytical capabilities within a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Manage the daily processing and control of customer promotional activity and trade investment. Ensure promotional agreements and customer claims are accurately set up, monitored and reconciled. Provide analysis and insight on volume, revenue, gross margin and trade spend performance. Support monthly trade spend reviews with commercial stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities. Monitor sales and marketing expenditure, ensuring accurate period-end accounting and reporting. Assist with forecasting activities across customers and product categories. Produce financial reporting to support performance against budget and forecast. Partner with Finance, Sales and Marketing teams to understand key business drivers and challenges. Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting processes and financial controls. Candidate Profile Experience within a commercial finance, management accounting or finance analyst role. Strong understanding of trade spend, customer claims, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations. Advanced Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office capability. Experience of business partnering with non-finance stakeholders. Part-qualified accountant (AAT, CIMA, ACCA or ICAS) desirable, although qualified by experience candidates will also be considered. Experience with Oracle and/or Essbase would be advantageous. Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail. Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships across teams. Self-motivated with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
