About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Interim Commercial Manager to support a global engineering business undergoing a major commercial and operational transformation.
The organisation is moving from a decentralised, multi-entity structure to a standardised global operating model, including the implementation of global workflows and future CLM capability. This role will play a key part in ensuring commercial control, consistency, and risk management during this transition.
This is a hands-on, high-impact interim role requiring someone who can operate independently, make commercially sound decisions quickly, and work effectively across international stakeholders.
Strong Oil & Gas / EPC / industrial engineering experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial review, negotiation, and management of complex contracts (EPC, service, aftermarket, and framework agreements)
- Support resolution and validation of complex claims, including industrial and warranty-related issues
- Act as a key commercial interface across engineering, legal, claims, and operational teams
- Provide pragmatic, commercially focused guidance on contract risk, variations, and disputes
- Support standardisation of contract processes within a transforming global operating model
- Work closely with international stakeholders across multiple regions and functions
- Ensure commercial governance and decision-making aligns with business objectives
Candidate Profile
- Strong background in Commercial Management / Contracts Management (not purely legal)
- Significant experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, engineering, or industrial manufacturing environments
- Proven ability to manage complex contract negotiations and claims in live project environments
- Strong commercial judgement with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
- Confident stakeholder manager across senior and international teams
- Able to operate independently with minimal onboarding in a fast-moving environment
- Experience in transformation or multi-entity/global operating environments highly advantageous
Contract Details
- Interim contract (initial ~6 months, potential extension to 10–12 months)
- Remote working with occasional international travel
- Competitive day rate (flexible for the right candidate, including part-time options)
What’s on Offer
- High-impact role within a major global transformation programme
- Exposure to complex international engineering and commercial challenges
- Opportunity to influence and stabilise commercial operations during change
