Skilled Trades Teacher (SEN & SEMH Setting)
A nurturing independent specialist school in Tameside is looking for a Skilled Trades Teacher to join their close-knit school (ECTs and unqualified teachers welcome).
This is a unique opportunity to join this well-established education group in supporting pupils with diverse needs. The school are looking for a Skilled Trades Teacher with proven experience of working with SEND or SEMH pupils. You will be inspring students though skilled trades such as plastering and joinery and making a real difference in their lives.
Job description:
- Planning and delivering engaging Plastering and Joinery lessons, to KS4 & KS5 pupils with complex SEMH, ASC and other learning needs
- Alongside the curriculum, providing emotional regulation and sensory support
- Promoting independence and confidence through tailored, nurture-focused learning
- Tracking progress and contribute to EHCP processes
- Preparing pupils for transition to KS4 and KS5
- Working hours: 8:15am – 4pm
- Starting asap/September
- Salary: £32,000 – £38,000 (Pro rata – Term Time – Only 39 Weeks)
Person specification:
- Experience of teaching, preferably in a SEN setting
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2/3+ and/or significant industry experience
- Experience teaching in SEND, PRU, or with learners with SEMH needs is desireable
- Experience of adapting teaching to various needs
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Adaptable, resilient and empathetic attitude
- Relevant vocational qualifications
