Job Description:

Resident Engineer Electrical (South East, South West, North West, Ireland)

RPS invites applications for Resident Engineers Electrical to join our site‑based teams across the South East, South West, and North West of the Republic of Ireland. These roles support major above‑ and below‑ground water utility projects, delivering essential infrastructure while ensuring compliance with contract documents.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report on works being carried out on site.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external use.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 8 degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of post‑graduate experience in engineering, including site supervision and monitoring of safe working practices; experience on water sector projects preferred, pipeline treatment plant work an advantage.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Current Safepass, Managing Safely in Construction and Manual Handling certifications.

Position Specific Competencies

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel.

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Record keeping and contract familiarity with Public Works and FIDIC forms.
  • Track record of leading or participating in site supervision teams; contractor design review experience beneficial.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to define problems, collect data, draw conclusions and recommend solutions.
