Engineering Lecturer Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Engineering

A well-established and highly regarded further education college in Gloucestershire is looking to appoint an Engineering Lecturer to deliver engaging and industry-relevant teaching across Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering subjects from Level 2 through to Level 6. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering department that works closely with employers and apprentices, helping shape the next generation of engineering professionals. Teaching will span both full-time learners and apprenticeships across a variety of engineering pathways. The college delivers qualifications through awarding bodies including Pearson, City & Guilds, and EAL, offering a varied and rewarding teaching environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering units across Levels 2 6
  • Teach across a range of engineering disciplines in both workshop and classroom settings
  • Support both full-time learners and apprentices
  • Develop engaging lesson plans and learning materials
  • Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and industry partners
  • Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment

Who we are looking for:

You will need:

  • Minimum HND qualification in Engineering
  • GCSE Maths and English
  • Relevant industry experience within engineering
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Passion for developing future engineering talent

It would also be helpful to have:

  • Previous teaching experience with apprentices and full-time students
  • Assessor Award
  • PGCE, DTLLS, Certificate in Education, or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification
