Mechanical Project / Contracts Manager (HVAC)

Salary: £55k-£65k (subject to experience) + Car Allowance + Benefits.

Location: Bedford.

Full-time | Permanent.

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Project/Contracts Manager with a strong focus on heating, plumbing, and gas systems to join a leading and well-established client of ours within the M&E industry.

You’ll manage multiple projects (typically anything up to around £500k in value), mainly within refurbishment across commercial, healthcare, education, and industrial sectors.

The Role

• Manage multiple mechanical projects from start to finish.
• Oversee labour, subcontractors, and materials.
• Attend client and site meetings.
• Ensure quality, compliance, and H&S standards.
• Handle project finances, variations, and procurement.
• Support site teams with technical guidance.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years in mechanical building services.
• Strong experience managing multiple projects.
• Knowledge of HVAC, LTHW/CHW, plant rooms & domestic services.
• Commercial awareness and leadership skills.
• Ideally CSCS (Manager/Black Card) – either current or previously held.
• Ideally SMSTS – either current or previously held.
• Desirable: HNC / HND / Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Be commutable to Bedford.
