Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity for an Activity Group Coordinator to join our team delivering Dementia Groups across the Leeds area. The role is part‑time, permanent and is paid £13.49 per hour (FTE £24,552 per annum).

Location and Hours

Home based with easy travel to groups across the Leeds area. 21 hours per week, working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

What You’re Doing

  • Day‑to‑day coordination of group provision, including activity planning and delivery, organising refreshments and regular communication with group members and venues.
  • Coordination of volunteers, ensuring recruitment, training and support arrangements are in place.
  • Delivering a high‑quality activity plan at groups, in line with best practice and feedback from attendees.
  • General administrative duties including data entry for the RVS Management Information Systems.
  • Participation in local fundraising for Royal Voluntary Service as agreed with Service and Operations Manager.
  • Assisting Service Manager to ensure compliance with statutory standards, policies and procedures (Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Data Protection, Safeguarding).
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties within the remit of the post and agreed with the Service Manager.

What We’re Looking For

  • Lives within easy reach of groups and holds a valid full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle insured for business use (mileage paid or reimbursed).
  • Knowledge and experience of dementia (personal and/or professional).
  • Understanding of the benefits of group settings and activities for people living with dementia.
  • Safeguarding vulnerable adults.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Good organisation and facilitation skills.

Experience

  • Experience working with people living with dementia and/or their carers.
  • Experience delivering activities within a group setting.
  • Ability to use standard IT systems – Microsoft Office/Word/Excel, client database entry and management.
