Role Overview
Cover Supervisors play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences. You will supervise classes across a range of subjects, manage the classroom environment, and support students in completing pre-prepared work. This role offers an excellent pathway into teaching or other educational careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain on task
- Delivering pre-set lesson plans and maintaining a focused learning environment
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Supporting pupils with their learning as required
- Ensuring a safe, calm, and positive classroom atmosphere
- Travelling to different schools across Bury and Bolton depending on daily or weekly requirements
Candidate Requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel to secondary schools in both Bury and Bolton
- Strong communication and classroom-management skills
- Confidence in working with students aged 11-16
- A professional, adaptable, and positive attitude
- Previous school or youth‑work experience is desirable but not essential, as training is provided
- Ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals seeking flexible work within education
