Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are currently recruiting for dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Workers to join a 4 bed therapeutic children’s home in Swindon.
This home supports children aged 8-16 who have experienced childhood trauma, providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where they can begin to heal, grow, and thrive.
About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with their day to day lives, helping them build positive relationships, develop life skills, and achieve emotional stability. You will be part of a supportive team delivering trauma‑informed care tailored to each child’s needs.
Shift Pattern
- 2 long day shifts and 1 short shift per week
- 1-2 sleep‑in shifts per week (required)
Key Responsibilities as a Support Worker
- Provide consistent, high‑quality care and emotional support
- Build trusting relationships with children and young people
- Support daily routines, including education, activities, and appointments
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
What We’re Looking For
- Individuals with a caring, resilient, and patient nature
- Experience working with children or young people
- Understanding of trauma‑informed care (or willingness to learn)
- Flexibility to work long days and sleep‑in shifts
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
