Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Principal/Associate Process Engineer to join our team to support the delivery of our UK and Ireland clients’ water programmes.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead process engineering input across feasibility, concept, preliminary, and detailed design for water treatment designs
  • Develop and review process designs, including block flow diagrams, P&IDs, mass balances, and equipment sizing
  • Analyse operational data to identify optimisation opportunities and improve treatment performance
  • Perform process modelling and simulation to support design and operational enhancements
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, proposals, and client presentations
  • Check process deliverables for accuracy and compliance
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering technical growth and team development
  • Collaborate with resource coordinators to manage project resources and contribute to recruitment and training initiatives
  • Support business development by providing technical input to proposals, tenders, and client strategies

Candidate Specification

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering field
  • Chartered Status (CEng) with a recognised Professional Institution
  • Proven experience in municipal water treatment
  • Strong understanding of conventional and emerging treatment technologies
  • Significant experience in developing and delivering feasibility, outline, and detailed process designs
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and optimise treatment processes
  • Excellent technical report writing skills using concise English
  • Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
  • Skilled in reviewing technical deliverables, calculations, and reports
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of emerging technologies
  • Willingness to contribute to technical knowledge networks and promote best practice
