Director of Finance & Operations
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Director of Finance & Operations to join our Executive Team on a 12-month fixed term basis. Reporting to the CEO, you will play a critical role in shaping organisational strategy, ensuring financial sustainability, and overseeing key enabling services that support the delivery of outstanding care and impact.
This unique opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role, providing direction across finance, estates, governance, risk, and project management functions. The role is responsible for the strategic financial leadership of the charity and of its enabling operations. It is accountable to the CEO and the Board of Trustees for their effective and efficient operation in furtherance of the organisation’s charitable objectives, strategic aims and legal and regulatory compliance. The role contributes fully and collaboratively as part of the organisation’s Executive Team to collectively drive forward strategic priorities and operational plans and contribute to day-to-day decision making.
Helen & Douglas House is a registered hospice charity based in Oxford, providing palliative, respite, end-of-life and bereavement care to life-limited children and their families.
