Job Description:

Part‑time position (4 hours per week on Saturday mornings). The role is a fixed‑term contract until 31 January 2027. The hourly rate is £13.45.

The purpose of this role is to support Petrus service users who attend the Saturday Breakfast Service at the Petrus Hub, providing a hot meal in a safe, warm environment and connecting them to wider support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the issues faced by people at risk of homelessness or with complex support needs.
  • Work with service users in a supportive, holistic, trauma‑informed way; assess needs and engage the Petrus team to signpost to appropriate support.
  • Communicate effectively with a range of service users, volunteers, partners and stakeholders.
  • Have experience in a catering or community setting.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification.
  • Accurately record relevant health‑and‑safety checks and outcome measures.
  • Support Petrus’ commitment to investing in communities and actively contribute to this vision.
  • Willing to engage in activities that support and promote Petrus.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills: time‑keeping, workload planning, record keeping, IT use, meeting deadlines.
  • Be able to travel to other offices or locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport.
