Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate qualified Social Worker to join our team as a Practice Educator on a part‑time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and supporting the next generation of social workers, helping to drive high‑quality practice and improve outcomes for children, young people and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Team Manager to coordinate and deliver a high quality service to the workforce and partner agencies.
  • Support social workers and students to achieve professional learning and development standards.
  • Deliver and contribute to training, CPD programmes, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support student placements and practice educators/assessors.
  • Support the Social Work Degree Apprenticeship (BA).
  • Provide mentoring, supervision, and consultancy to staff and teams.
  • Promote inclusive, anti‑discriminatory practice.
  • Undertake quality assurance and support continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with partner organisations, including HEIs and regulatory bodies.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities within the range of the salary grade.

Qualifications

  • You hold a Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS) Stage 2 qualification.
  • You are a passionate and experienced Social Worker with strong expertise in children’s services and a solid grasp of legislation, research, and best practice.
  • You understand the professional standards that underpin social work, including Social Work England requirements, PCF, and ASYE.
  • You are confident in supporting others to learn and thrive, and you bring knowledge of teaching, assessment, and different learning styles, alongside a strong commitment to anti‑oppressive and inclusive practice.
  • You are motivated to develop others, influence practice, and make a real impact on outcomes for children and families.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such, appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
