From £14.05 per hour PLUS additional £3,000‑£6,000 per year for sleep‑ins

Hours

Full‑time, 39 hours per week working a rolling shift pattern, 7 days on 7 days off

Job Description

We are looking for a children’s support worker to become part of our loving family home, caring for younger children who may experience emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will give encouragement and praise when needed, remain patient and supportive during times of crisis, and inspire children to grow and develop.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children, led and supported by a registered manager.
  • Act as a professional parent, giving encouragement and praise.
  • Provide emotional and physical support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations.
  • Build friendships and trusting relationships.
  • Help children find pleasure in everyday tasks and empower them to make decisions about themselves.
  • Ensure a safe home environment: cleaning, laundry and cooking.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Naturally caring, flexible and resilient.
  • Passionate about supporting children to lead happy lives.
  • Great communication skills, positive, playful and energetic.
  • Experience working with children, such as in children’s care or transferable skills from nursery, education, sports or working with vulnerable people is beneficial.
  • Ability to remain calm during sometimes challenging situations.
  • Full UK Driving licence is beneficial.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including shifts and sleep‑ins.
