Catering Supervisor
We are looking for a confident and committed individual to join our team as a Catering Supervisor at The Lakes Aquarium.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of seasonal employees, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging teamwork.
- Ensure guests receive exceptional service and enjoy their time with us.
- Oversee the daily operations of the 1872 Café, Lake View Café, and Ice Cream Kiosk, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, order supplies, and conduct regular stock checks.
- Act as deputy for the Catering Manager when absent, taking responsibility for shifts and overall operation.
- Help implement new ideas for menus, promotions, or services that enhance the visitor experience and align with the park’s values.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations, including allergen management and staff training.
- Occasionally act as Duty Manager for the Aquarium, overseeing the safety, security, and smooth running of the facility.
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience within catering or hospitality.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
- Proactive and positive attitude, with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards; a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate is desirable or a willingness to obtain it.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and during peak periods.
Salary & Benefits
This is a salaried, permanent position with an annual salary of £25,947. Full training and uniform are provided. Benefits include complimentary attraction tickets, discounts, and other incentives.
