Team Leader – Children’s Residential Home

Location: Stoke-on-TrentSalary: £37,810.22 per annum (inclusive of sleeps)Working Hours: 2 on 4 off shift patternService: Children’s Residential HomeService Users: Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)Qualifications Required: Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential ChildcareExperience Required: Minimum 18 months within a Children’s Residential Home (near‑qualified candidates with 60%+ completion of their qualification will be considered)Employment Type: Fixed‑Term Contract (6–9 Month Maternity Cover)

Who We Are Looking For…

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Team Leader who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people. You will lead shifts, support the development of the staff team, and help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people.

  • Previous experience within an Ofsted Registered Children’s Home
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people
  • Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and care planning
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to lead by example
  • Confident with record keeping and IT systems

Additional Screening Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is preferred
  • Level 3 Residential Childcare is not equivalent to Health & Social Care qualifications
  • Applicants from Healthcare, NHS, Adult Care, Supported Living, Domiciliary Care, Nursing Homes, Mental Health Services, or similar settings without Children’s Residential experience will not be considered
  • Applicants requiring sponsorship will not be considered

Individuals with only CQC experience and / or who have not worked in an Ofsted Registered Children’s Home will not be considered.

Additional Opportunities

Qualified Residential Care Workers who are not currently seeking progression may also be considered for opportunities within our client’s residential services.
