Highways Inspector
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Highways Inspector to act as the Council’s representative across our highway network, playing a vital role in keeping our roads safe, serviceable, and effective for all users. This opportunity contributes directly to the safety and resilience of the local transport network, helping to minimise risk, support asset management objectives, and ensure highways, footways, and associated infrastructure are maintained in line with established standards and policies.
As a key member of the service, you will undertake inspections, identify and prioritise repairs, and work collaboratively with contractors, stakeholders, and the community to deliver high‑quality outcomes. You will respond to urgent incidents, monitor works on site, and support long‑term maintenance planning, using your expertise and judgement to shape a safe, efficient, and well‑managed highway network.
Travel throughout the Borough as required; access to a car is necessary for site visits and meetings.
Language: Must be fluent in English (part 7 of the Immigration Act requirement).
