Volunteer Community Workshop Facilitator (Derry – Londonderry)
Community Education delivers free educational workshops to groups of young people and adults across the UK to help increase community resilience.
Volunteer requirements
- Be able to volunteer on a regular basis.
- Contribute a minimum of 8 hours per month; flexibility with availability is advantageous (workshops run weekdays 9am‑5pm, occasional evenings or weekends).
- Hold a driving licence for at least 2 years, be able to drive vehicles in the UK and have use of own vehicle.
- Commit to volunteer for at least 12 months.
- Use own IT equipment.
- Willing to undertake all required training for the role.
- Willing to travel to workshop venues independently.
Due to the nature of this role, applicants must undergo an Access NI check and provide ID documents in support.
Role description
- Facilitate face‑to‑face or online workshops to groups of young people or adults on a range of humanitarian topics to strengthen the community.
- Help promote our work within the community to extend the reach of our education offer.
Skills and attributes
- Passionate about exploring humanitarian issues and values.
- Believe in equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Responsible, organised, reliable and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Possess a reasonable level of IT literacy and access to suitable IT equipment and internet connection (choose between face‑to‑face or digital workshops).
