Role Overview
Great Oaks School is seeking a compassionate, emotionally intelligent individual to join our team as a Behaviour and Pastoral Support Officer. This is a busy but deeply rewarding role, working directly with students to support their emotional wellbeing, engagement, and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a vital part in helping students overcome barriers to learning by building trusting relationships and offering consistent co-regulation experiences.
- Use de‑escalation techniques and tailored interventions to help students develop self‑regulation skills and thrive in their educational environment.
- Respond to behaviour incidents, support attendance and engagement, and collaborate with staff and families to create positive outcomes.
- Act as a visible and proactive presence throughout the school day, bringing opportunities to make a meaningful difference.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting young people who may display behaviours that challenge.
- School experience is desirable; applications from candidates with other experience working directly with young people will also be considered.
