Senior Commercial Manager – Travel Money Pricing

The Senior Commercial Manager – Travel Money Pricing (know internally as a Senior Commercial Manager) is a key senior role responsible for defining and delivering the pricing strategy to achieve our strategic objectives across the Travel Money business, including bureau operations, online Click & Collect, home delivery, and prepaid card products.

You’ll be accountable for driving competitive, commercially effective pricing that maximises sales volumes, enhances profitability, and supports long-term market share growth whilst also representing the key Tesco priority to deliver strong customer value. You’ll lead financial planning and analysis, P&L management, and business‑as‑usual performance reporting to provide clear insight, robust decision support, and strong commercial governance across the business.

Working closely with key internal stakeholders and in partnership with Travelex as the principal supplier, you’ll ensure pricing, performance, and planning decisions are analytic‑led, customer‑focused, and aligned to broader commercial objectives.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own day‑to‑day and strategic pricing decisions across all Travel Money channels and products
  • Analyse internal performance, market data, and competitor positioning to recommend pricing actions
  • Lead financial planning cycles including budget, forecast, and long‑range planning
  • Maintain control over P&L performance and ensure clear reporting of variances and actions
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting for leadership and key stakeholders
  • Develop business cases and scenario analysis for new initiatives or strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with Travelex and internal teams to align commercial execution
  • Manage, coach and develop team members (1 direct report)

We need you to have

  • Strong experience in Travel Money or margin‑based pricing, commercial finance, FP&A, or revenue management
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver pricing strategies that increase both volume and profitability, using tested approaches at scale
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience managing or influencing P&L performance
  • Advanced analytical capability with the ability to translate data into actionable commercial insight
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and performance reporting
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior colleagues and cross‑functional teams
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing commercial environment
  • Strong people leadership capability, with experience managing or developing analysts or commercial team members
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Experience in foreign exchange, financial services, travel money, retail, or multi‑channel consumer businesses
  • Experience working with strategic third‑party suppliers or partners
  • Understanding of customer pricing behaviour across physical and digital channels
  • Experience with prepaid card or adjacent financial product categories
