Job Summary
Salary: Real Living Wage £13.45 per hour.
Location: West Lancashire, Skemersdale.
Contract: 10 hours per week, fixed‑term until 30th April 2028.

Role
We are seeking an individual to join the Active Recovery Programme team to help people in recovery from substance misuse and mental health issues build healthier lifestyles, resilience and improve employment prospects through sport and physical activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage new participants in activities.
- Motivate and mentor participants in the community to raise awareness and gain referrals.
- Work with Area Project Leads and the wider team to deliver activities effectively and efficiently.
- Maintain flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings, to support the team.
- Collaborate with partners to signpost participants to other organisations that meet their needs.
- Safeguard participants and report any concerns immediately via the Welfare portal.
- Work with the Research and Insight Officer to gather information and complete evaluation paperwork, quarterly reports and outcome measures on the Active Recovery Portal.
- Develop creative ideas to deliver and engage participants to improve the programme.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience in working with people in recovery from substance misuse or mental health issues is desirable.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be registered on the volunteers portal (applicable to current volunteers). (Non‑volunteers may apply if registered.)
- Will need an Enhanced DBS clearance and risk assessment of convictions by the Safeguarding and HR team.
