Property Secretary

Company: Orwins
Apply for the Property Secretary
Location: Finchley
Job Description:

Join Orwins as an experienced Property Secretary and become part of a busy, high-performing property team in Finchley.

We do law differently – less formal, more focused, and built around delivering an outstanding client experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to play a key role in supporting a top-tier legal team.

Working across residential conveyancing, commercial property and secured lending, you will support a talented group of fee earners with the day-to-day coordination that keeps matters progressing smoothly. From client communication and document preparation to post-completion work and Land Registry submissions, you will be central to ensuring every transaction is handled efficiently, accurately and professionally.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Provide full secretarial and administrative support to a busy property team working across residential conveyancing, commercial property and property finance matters.
  • Prepare, format and amend legal documents, contracts, completion statements and correspondence with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage Land Registry applications, SDLT submissions and post-completion formalities using systems such as Infotrack, ensuring all deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
  • Open, organise and maintain client files, keeping records, documents and case management systems fully up to date throughout each transaction.
  • Liaise confidently with clients, solicitors, lenders, estate agents and other third parties, helping to keep transactions moving and queries resolved promptly.
  • Order searches, manage incoming documentation, monitor progress on live matters and proactively support fee earners with the smooth running of their caseloads.
  • Help create a professional, efficient and reassuring experience for clients by ensuring communication is clear, timely and well organised from instruction to completion.

What We Are Looking For

You will have previous experience as a property or legal secretary, a confident knowledge of Land Registry processes and hands-on post completion experience. LEAP experience is a big plus. Above all, you are organised, accurate, and the kind of person who takes real pride in their work.

What You Will Get

At Orwins, we invest in our people just as much as our future. Our future is our people. This is a firm where your voice is heard, your contribution is recognised, and your development is taken seriously – not just talked about.

You will get genuine access to our C-Suite, Senior Partners, leaders and experts from the start, working closely with a team that values expertise, supports each other and takes pride in doing things well. We are growing fast, and the people who join us will grow with us too.

On top of that: fresh and open plan offices, flexible hybrid working, a benefits package that enhances your development, financial security, family and wellbeing and personal life. Above all, a people focussed and collaborative culture that makes coming to work worth it.
