Locum Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse – Psychiatric Liaison Service – Nights/Twilights in Sheffield

We are seeking a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse for a 3‑month locum role at the Longley Centre in Sheffield. The position is primarily night shifts (19:00–08:10) with some twilight shifts (14:00–00:00). You will work up to 37.5 hours per week across any day, as the service operates 24/7.

Compensation:

• £26 per hour for day shifts
• £33 per hour for nights and Saturdays
• £40 per hour for Sundays/Bank Holidays

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive mental health assessments and liaise with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage and prioritise caseloads, ensuring high‑quality care and risk management plans.
• Collaborate with hospital staff to develop and implement individual care plans.
• Consult and train acute hospital staff on mental health approaches.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of the service.

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing.
• Proven experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
• Valid NMC Registration.
