Role Overview
We have an exciting employment opportunity for a Nights Support Worker position within CYCs young persons supported accommodation scheme, Howe Hill for Young People (HH4YP), which is part of the CYC Housing Options and Support Service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality resettlement support to customers living at Howe Hill for Young People.
- Maintain a responsive Young Persons Accommodation Project for homeless customers in supported housing.
- Deliver appropriate emotional and physical support to vulnerable young people facing stress.
- Work independently within guidance from a supervisor, coordinating with the team.
- Participate in a 24‑hour, 365‑day service shift rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Cooperate with safeguarding and welfare policies, and undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working with homeless people and in supported accommodation.
- Understanding of challenges faced by clients in a supported housing environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, ability to remain firm and cope with stressful situations.
- Good initiative and ability to work independently under managerial guidance.
Working Hours & Shift Pattern
The service operates 24 hours, 365 days per year. The successful applicant will be expected to be part of the shift rota patterns, including weekends and bank holidays.
