Main duties of the job
Assist the Operations Manager in the management of all medicines supply services, including:
- Warehouse utilisation, receipt, distribution and continuity of supply
- Determining appropriate delivery methods into the Trust
- Introducing new products while ensuring regulatory compliance
- Promoting the use of a warehouse management system and negotiating service provision with customers
- Formulating, developing and implementing local policies related to supply chain and inventory management
- Working closely with procurement lead and store supervisors to identify opportunities and improve supply chain effectiveness
- Supporting the implementation of new technology and inventory management systems and reporting on key process indicators
What you will bring to the role
- Degree plus an Advanced Diploma in Procurement & Supply and membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, *or*
- Recognised qualification in pharmacy/medicines management with significant relevant experience and knowledge of MHRA Good Distribution Practice equivalent to degree level and evidence of further specialist training
- Experience in dealing with medical products and their handling and distribution requirements
- Knowledge that warehouse operations are conducted in accordance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP)
- Professional approach to work, ethical conduct, and a commitment to staff development
