Instrument Coordinator

Chiltern Hospital, Great Missenden – 20 Hours & Permanent

Salary: Up to £28,000.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Overview

We have an opportunity for an Instrument Coordinator to join our Theatre department. This is a part‑time role for 20 hours a week with a flexible shift pattern.

Duties Of This Role Include

  • Oversee the preparation and availability of surgical instrumentation, liaising with internal decontamination services and external hospitals where required.
  • Ensure all instruments are clean, functional, and delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner to meet daily theatre schedules.
  • Assist in the ordering, rotation, and replenishment of theatre consumables, ensuring alignment with Circle Health Group’s preferred suppliers and procurement policies.
  • Support the theatre team in delivering seamless surgical services, contributing to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Work closely with theatre practitioners, sterile services, procurement, and external providers to ensure clarity and continuity in equipment and stock availability.
  • Ensure all instrumentation handling complies with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory guidelines.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

  • Experience working within a theatre environment or clinical support role.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Basic understanding of infection control, instrument handling, and decontamination processes.
  • Good communication and team‑working skills with a professional and reliable approach.
