ABOUT THE ROLE As a Gardener you will help create a stimulating environment that enables us to deliver quality, person‑centred care. By maintaining our grounds to the highest standards you will ensure our home always makes a great first impression and that our outdoor areas can be fully enjoyed by residents seeking fresh air or a change of scenery. Your role includes looking after equipment and structures such as fencing, keeping our grounds safe and tidy (including clearing snow and ice in winter), and planting a range of flowers, shrubs and trees. Once a year, you will showcase your talents in the fiercely‑contested Barchester in Bloom competition.
ABOUT YOU A passion for the great outdoors is essential. You will work around the needs of our residents, adopting a patient and empathetic approach. General gardening experience, a good understanding of health and safety, and the ability to use garden treatment chemicals in line with COSHH regulations are required. You should be trustworthy, professional, and a team player who takes a genuine interest in the lives and wellbeing of our residents.
