Shrewsbury School is seeking an outstanding Health Centre Manager to lead and develop our 24-hour Health Centre, a vital part of pastoral care in our thriving co-educational boarding and day school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered General Nurse (RGN) to combine clinical expertise with strategic leadership, delivering exceptional healthcare provision and promoting pupil wellbeing at the highest level.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the 24-hour Health Centre and coordinate medical care with pastoral care across the School.
- Report to the Deputy Head (Pastoral) and work closely with them.
- Lead the health centre team, exercising proven leadership and team management skills.
- Ensure clinical governance, safeguarding and safe working practices.
- Deliver high quality medical care to students, staff and visitors.
- Maintain effective communication, organisational and decision-making processes in a busy environment.
- Remain calm, resilient and composed under pressure.
Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification.
- Experience working with young people.
- Excellent communication, organisational and decision-making abilities.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance and safeguarding.
- Willingness to undergo child protection screening, including Disclosure and Barring Service checks and checks with past employers.
