Staff Nurse – Newborn Services

Overview

Saint Mary’s provides neonatal care across three sites – the NICU at Oxford Road Campus, and Local Neonatal Units at Wythenshawe Hospital and North Manchester General Hospital. We are looking for caring and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our neonatal team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, family‑integrated care to babies with complex clinical needs, including respiratory, renal, cardiac, neurological, genetic, metabolic conditions and those requiring surgical intervention.
• Support the delivery of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) screening and treatment across Intensive Care, High Dependency and Special Care areas.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective and compassionate care.
• Support, mentor and supervise junior and pre‑registration staff, fostering a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with Band 5 rating (or equivalent).
• Strong communication skills and commitment to evidence‑based practice.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced, rewarding multidisciplinary team.
• Experience or willingness to learn neonatal, children’s or adult nursing practices.
