CAMHS Administrator – Team Leader

Lead and manage the CAMHS administrative teams across Weymouth & Portland and West C‑CAMHS, ensuring efficient processes and supporting team members to prioritise workloads. Maintain consistent communication and provide line management support to other team members.
Main duties
- Take overall responsibility for the provision of a professional, efficient and confidential administrative team across both sites.
- Liaise with members of the public, including distressed individuals, and with other members of the Childrens and Young People’s directorate.
- Organise and deliver safe and efficient office systems to support sound patient care and meet targets.
- Support clinicians with typing clinical letters, minuting meetings, and organising appointments and groups.
- Maintain excellent interpersonal and communication skills to ensure effective working relationships at all internal and external levels.
- Hold direct line‑management responsibilities for other members of the administration team.

Enhanced DBS check: Required; the Trust will cover the cost. Existing DBS certification via the DBS update service will be accepted.
Education and qualifications
- RSA III or equivalent.
- GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Previous NHS experience and/or experience of dealing with the public.
- Previous experience of supervising a small team.
- Audio typing experience.
- Experience using an electronic service user record.

- Working within a similar office environment.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality.
- Well‑developed communication skills with clients and professionals.
- Good time‑management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to maintain sustained concentration.
- Represent the Trust professionally at all times, demonstrating confidentiality.
- Professional handling of emotive material and challenging behaviour.
- Willingness to undertake further training to meet Health & Safety standards.
- Ability to work on initiative while being a team player.
- Adaptive and flexible when tackling new challenges.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Proven ability to prioritise and manage a defined workload.
- Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate to carry out the role.
